We needed to cut off a couple pieces of granite in our kitchen to fit our new appliances, it was a small job other businesses were trying to overcharge us for, DTLA Tile and Stone responded right away willing to do the small job for a reasonable price. They came 2 days later and they were very professional and cut the granite nicely. If we ever need any other tile/stone services I would definitely contact DTLA Tile and Stone again since they were so great about doing even a small job for us. Highly recommend!

DTLA tile was willing to do a small job, fixing a couple of travertine tiles that had cracked in a bathroom. They also were able to seal my bathroom and shower tile. They were communicative throughput the process and patient because I had to get the tile first. I would recommend DTLA tile because they follow through with their jobs, no matter how big or small.

Our bathroom tile was breaking, due to poor workmanship and other reasons. DTLA pointed out why this was happening and with great precision and care removed the broken tiles and replaced them. I reached out to DTLA for the installation of safety grab bars in our 90 year old mother's shower after her hospital discharge. I was very grateful that he took on this small job and lived up to his job quote and date. Additionally, his technician arrived on time, cleaned up the entire work area, and completed the difficult task of drilling into porcelain tile without cracking or damaging any of the adjacent tile where a prior contractor had failed to complete the job. These guys were great. We had hired another company to do our kitchen backsplash but they bailed last minute. We had a thanksgiving dinner planned with 20 people. I was looking to get some glass tile repaired in my Master Bathroom. It was a small job. I sent out a request on Yelp and got quite a few replies. Unfortunately, of all the responses, only two were interested - mainly because of the tile being glass.

One company came out and looked at the prospective work and DTLA wanted some pictures and specifics via text and or email. Both company's bids were the same. I sent messages to both to discuss the job further. DTLA responded, and the other one - blew me off!

So I spoke with Bill at DTLA Tile. He explained a lot of information about the glass tile, and the possible reasons for the cracking. We worked out the details and set the dates for the repairs - which were planned for one and a half days. On the first day, I overheard the tile technician (Alesandro?) talking to Bill on the speaker phone speaking Spanish. (I speak a little - enough to get by when necessary) He was discussing the difficulty of the work, and Bill replied that there was a "contracto" and they had to honor it.

Alesandro worked all day chipping away at the glass tiles removing them. It's a very slow process with glass and makes quite a mess. He was always wearing proper protective gear to prevent injury. Had to make a Home Depot Trip for supplies. He got all of the tiles removed on the first day and on the second day began cutting tiles - when he discovered that he was going to need the wet saw to make the proper cuts on these tiles. He left and came back shortly with a saw and proceeded to cut and install more tiles. At the end of the second FULL day of work - the tiles were installed and he would be back the next day for grouting.

We found a couple of MINOR issues that we wanted to have modified. One - meant removing and replacing a tile. But they gladly did that and even made another Home Depot Trip to get some Grout/Caulk to finish up the job.

Alesandro left in the early afternoon of the third day. The job had taken almost twice as long due to the complexity of the glass tile. But the price was the same as agreed upon in the "contract."

Bill contacted me a day or two later wanting to stop by to pick up payment due, and to inspect the final job. He came in and took pictures of the work and we had a nice conversation about the project and he was complimentary of some of the work that had been done in our house. I had some questions about some other things and he gave me a couple of referrals.

He installed vintage reissue tile in our bathroom beautifully and even repaired shoddy work that was done by a previous contractor on the adjoining wood floors to ensure that the tiles were framed well. He really went above and beyond and was so easy to work with. It was clear that he had tremendous pride in his work and professional integrity. Highly recommended.

I had a very small tile job that was probably not really worth their time: repairing/replacing a very-shoddily-installed tile border around a tile mosaic at my kid's school. I can state authoritatively that the original border was shoddily-installed, because I'm the one who installed it, and I had no idea what I was doing. DTLA was responsive to my initial bid request and-- while it was a *little* difficult to get a service date solidified with them-- DTLA ended up doing a very professional job, and the results are outstanding. Recommend 100%!!! I sent out requests on Yelp looking for advice/potential new tile contractors for a shower remodel in progress with a general contractor that I had already signed a home improvement contract with. I had a lot of concerns with the ongoing tile job - particularly the fact the general contractor's tile guy pierced the hot mop shower pan with tons of staples to secure the lathe. I couldn't really even promise a job would be available due to the existing contract but Bill offered without me asking to stop by and take a look at what the GC was doing. He came to my place after hours at 9pm on a Tuesday night and did an expert inspection of the current job, gave me a ton of recommendations that only an expert tile guy would know for completing the job to pass on to my general contractor's tile guy and a very competitive estimate if I were able to get out of my contract. That is simply the action of a nice and helpful human. The potential for something in it for him and his business was low to begin with but he went out of his way at 9pm on a weekday to make a positive impact on essentially a stranger. I would not hesitate to hire him. He knows his stuff, he cares about the quality of his work (and tile work, in general as he clearly has a passion for his trade) and his price point was great. Hire him!

DTLA tile was great to work with. Not only did they have the best prices but their work was exceptional. We wanted the tile to be completely level with our hardwood floor so a separate transition piece wasn't needed ... and they delivered beautifully. They also worked efficiently to meet a few deadlines we had to get into the home. We'll be using them in the future should we have more tile needs.

I had a unique installation due to the fact I was using antique Hamilton tiles rescued from another home that was torn down. It was like solving a puzzle as to how to take advantage of the older tiles. Bill and his team were very successful in completing a design and installation. The fireplace in my 1895 Victorian home is a showpiece.

I had a lot of work done on my house in the last year and dealing with contractor and subcontractors can be stressful and disappointing but my experience with DTLA (Bill and Martin) was the complete opposite. It started with Bill, I knew I was going to hire him after our first conversation, even before he gave me the quote. He was accessible, informative, detailed , prompt and most importantly I felt I can trust him. This goes for his team too especially Martin who did an awesome job with my countertops it's absolutely beautiful. The follow up was surprising, Bill came out to inspect the work and gave himself and team some additional work that would improve the overall look of my kitchen. something I overlooked.

Talk about going ABOVE and BEYOND "THE EXTRA MILE!"

I was in the hugest pickle yesterday! After a "small-ish" remodeling job (started by a different company) turning into double the time, work and cost (as most of them do), the backsplash was not grouted and the floor tile that was supposed to go in as a design that would match the mosaic design we did over the stove was not even installed yet, let alone the floor needed some major extra prepping, so we were looking at least another 2-3 days to finish everything and meanwhile, one of the guys didn't show over the weekend plus the first day when we had 2 guys, I ran out of some of the tile cuz the tile store gave me extra of the wrong color. So much for being prepared. Then yesterday, with only 1 guy working, work was much slower and he could not finish the floor at all, let alone start it and he works full time during the week so I was supposed to wait another week to get the tiling done.

Another week? I literally wanted to cry!!!! My new appliances were delivered on Sat. but since the backsplash and division tile on the floor were not done, they couldn't be installed and I have 2 stoves and 2 fridges sitting between my living room and kitchen right now (thankfully we took the wall out between both rooms or that would've been impossible).

But I digress, as I was saying, life in a tiny 985 s.f. house of which about 300 s.f. is the living room and kitchen and all of it is covered in fine white powder everywhere with most of the cabinet stuff out and on tables and nothing being functional at all is NOT "life" at all... you can barely maneuver to sit on a couch let alone not be covered in fine white powder (I would wipe the couches and table at least every night just to sit on the couch and my cat would walk around and leave WHITE FOOTPRINTS on the couches - ahhhhh).....

Well, this is where Bill came in! I called him around 8pm last night in a huge panic trying to find someone with reliable reviews that would be willing to drop everything and come rescue me THE VERY NEXT DAY!

He asked me to send him pictures of the backsplash and the floor area that needed the tiling (3 ft. wide by 3 ft. long) with multiple angels so he could see if the work so far was done right and what his guys would be stepping in to if they did come to save me.... AND HE AGREED TO MOVE another job back a couple days instead of starting it today, so he could send one of his crews over to me to rescue me.

I won't lie, the price wasn't cheap, especially since I already had chunked so much on my current project that was supposed to include the cost of my tile work, but you know the saying, "you get what you pay for."

But to be fair, it wasn't too high either considering the last minute save AND the fact this is what they specialize in. After several conversations back and forth (and me personally watching and trying to assist my current tile guy over the weekend) I realized what a MATICULOUS job tiling is and if a piece is cut ever so slightly crooked (I'm talking a hair line off), your eye immediately catches it when it goes down, so people who do tiling must be PERFECTIONISTS (which I am in my life - so I appreciate everyone else who is too) and let me tell you, after Bill reviewed at least 30 pics I sent him, he pointed out many techniques that should've been used on my job that weren't (from spacers on all 4 sides of each and every subway tile to the metal border that should've been used on the borders of the tile that did not butt up to any wall or cabinet or countertop).

Bill spent 2 hours back and forth on the phone with me and with his guys (all while driving back from vacation in Mexico, to boot), in order to find a way to save me.

If that doesn't tell you this man is a stand up man and his crew will get your job done right, I don't know what else would!

Please use DTLA Tile and Stone if you're looking for a reliable stand up company that will do your job right!

As a Shower expert I have done a lot of work for contractors and tile companies. And not everybody knows what Quality looks like. But William and his team are amazing and that is why I'm leaving this review. It always helps to have a nice flat surfaces and tile properly installed When you're installing the shower door. It makes my life a lot easier. LOL. So if you're looking for someone trustworthy and reliable William is the man.

I had a commercial bathroom and shower that needed tiling, he gave me a fair price and stuck with it even when we had to redo some items on the invoice. Didn't use this company but I thought it would be good to advise people to stay away from them. They quoted me $9.00 per sq foot to epoxy my garage with water based epoxy. Any good epoxy company would use solid epoxy over water based and second that's way too much for a epoxy on any floor.

In response to the company's reply below... other companies are charging no more than 3.50 a sq foot to grind and add 100% solid epoxy no water based stuff that will eventually fade off.

Me and my wife just moved in to our first home, being completely honest and open we are a young couple and don't know much about tile and home construction. We had done our research and talked to various contractors about a bathroom renovation that we wanted to get done right away once we moved in. However, nobody was as patient and honest with us as Bill was. He gave us his price and timeline and walked us through each step before giving him the job. We hired him and to our surprise he completed the job quicker than anticipated. Left our bathroom clean, beautiful, and amazing. A great experience all the way through. Bill nailed it......priced it in minutes, guided me for supplies exacted what was needed and installed backslash next day. We ran into a few delays (due to my plumbing and the tile provider) and Billy and his guys were helpful every step of the way. I'm so happy with the results of my floor. My husband and I have done work to every single room in our house and we've worked with quite a few people - I almost wish I had more tile work to do to send Billy's way!

This review is long overdue. We had DTLA Tile & Stone remodel and tile our bathroom. Bill and his crew were always courteous and punctual. They kept our place clean despite all the construction going on. They also painted and were very meticulous to make sure work looked amazing. Bill constantly checked with us to make sure the work he was about to perform was to our liking. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience working with Bill and his crew. As a bonus, at the end of the job, we were told that the work done was under the original quoted estimate, and we ended paying substantially less then the original quote.

I called this company just 6 days before Thanksgiving 2016. The company that I had 1st called to install tile and a beautiful new sink cabinet for my guest bathroom never showed up. This left me very little time to find someone else to work on my bathroom before my guest came for Thanksgiving. One of the last numbers I called in Yelp was DTLA Tile and Stone. "Good things comes to those who wait", and I very glade I did. Within 30min after I called and left a voice messaged, I got a call back from the company owner who said that after his guys finish some work in Pasadena he and his crew were coming over TODAY. Wow I couldn't believe my ears. He came shortly afterwards and showed my some of his work on his website and I was blown away. I was scared to asked him what his prices were after viewing his masterful contracting work, but to my surprise he was very reasonable and gave me a GREAT PRICE. His crew went to work on my guest bathroom that same hour and in just two days, everything was done. The craftsmanship of his workers are impeccable and the prices are incomparable. A must call for all......
